Asian Seed Congress
2015 Over 1,000 Delegates attended for 23rd Congress. Inaugural Ceremony attended Indian government ministers, Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shri Radha
Mohan Singh, Union Minister for Urban Development,
Shri Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu and the Minister
of State for Agriculture, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Balyan.
The ceremony began with a performance of Indian classic
and folk dance, described as an ode to the seed, the
beginning of life.
Congress was held in India
since the 2008 ASC in Hyderabad. APSA organised
the Congress in collaboration with the National Seed
Association of India (NSAI), which set up a National
Organising Committee (NOC), chaired by Mr. Prabakar
Rao, for the event.
The first day at the Asian Seed Congress started with a session India and its fast-growing seed industry and agricultural sector. More than one hundred APSA delegates signed up for the workshop, Establishing and Operating a Seed Business in India, which was chaired by Mr. Siraj Hussain,
the Secretary of Agriculture.
